it sucks to be living in Queensland, Australia. Here, air suspension - illegal. when a car is released they stamp the stock wheel size which im sure is the same in all countries but then say the car is released with 15's you can only go to 17's or down to 13's any over or under that size - illegal. you get pulled over cause your car is very low - police get out a coke can if it doesnt fit between the lowest part of the car and the ground - illegal. you drop a new motor in it - you must get it mod plated which is fair enough, but if your on your provisional licence the only mod plate you can legally drive with a mod plate for a steering wheel change or seat change. its all this stuff that ruins our car scene. i mean you even cut one coil off your coilovers which all the bogen Holden Commodore drivers do in the rear thats illegal. on a provisional stage 1 licence you get 4 merit points, provisional stage 2 i THINK you may go up to 8 but it might just stay at 4. and then open licence you go to 12 merit points. 1 'defect' which im sure you know is how a certain thing on your car is outside the laws for example wheels to big, car to low, you lose 1 merit point and get a fine, which could be anywhere from say $40-$600 or something. say i was to throw some 18's on the current car i have, chuck in some bags, throw in some wheel spacers (have a guess, illegal to) and see my car is to low. theres my licence gone for 3 months and a hefty pile of fines. it really does suck. but then have a go at this. you must start on your learners licence and drive 100 hours minimum over a year, driving anything road registered, even a 1000hp bugatti veyron 16.4 but once you get on your provisionals once your driven your 100 hours or more and passed the test to drive alone on your provisional licence, and have some skills, you cant drive anything with a mod plate or anything over 200kw. right over the border in NSW bags are legal, you can drive any car with mod plates, but are limited to 80km/h on any road in the Country.
makes me sad to see all these cars on stance:nation and think my county is to hell bent on making money to open their minds to a car culture which is truely amazing. although im sure like here you have your police and law problems just like here. but ive never heard anything as bad as over here. :(
but a big F U to the government, im hunting down a BMW e30 as I type this.
