Meaty Fitment

There is no doubt that there is lack of meaty fitment going on Stance:Nation. Sometimes we get carried away with cars sitting millimeters off the ground and running extreme stretches that we forget what a clean, functional fitment looks like. Thankfully, Griffin Mathis was here to remind us. He went out with his friend Steven Darchiville and snapped some awesome photos to share with us. His STI is sitting on AME Tracer TM-02′s in 18×9.5 (+22) that are wrapped in a set of 255/35/18 tires. Car is equipped with D2 coilovers and camber bolts, and up front Griffin mounted on a V-Limited lip which was a nice touch. Under the hood you’ll find a Cobb intake, Cobb Downpipe and Cobb accessport on a stage 2 tune. The infamous STI sound comes from the Stromung Exhaust and HKS type III bov! We hope we satisfied those who are after form & function with this one! Have a great weekend!

This is a good example of Form and Function. Some drilled rotors would give the eyes a bit more drama and set off that aggressive meaty fitment.

I AGREE!!! >:) Lulz after you guys posted that gloriously meaty RX7 from FD rd.1 I died inside and went to heaven with a smile on my face. Best FD RX7 I've seen in a while. Meaty fitment works!!

I can always appreciate an EVO or STI with meat and fitment at the same time!

This is just sick. I freaking love it. That's how I'd fit an STI for sure.

lol, im glad someone noticed the "neons" haha. a friend got them from someone de-riceing his car for free. He passed a few out and said he'd do it if we did... so we did lol. It started out as just a joke, but anytime were all out together people ask why we dont have them on.. were kinda the "neon kids" of the bURG..

form & function? sure it's meaty on not really great tires, but look at that rear camber. totally good for "function" right guys?

@Josh- Couldnt agree more! Some of us cant afford the best, but you manage with what you have. I dont have an STI or anything, I have a slammed Outback though. Yeah its not highend, but damn does it look clean, and I can still travel and tow shit around. Congrats to Griffin!

too Dee.. Im down to take you on a personal trip to the mtns any time you would like. I promise i will change your mind about the ideas you have about my camber. Plese reaserch any credible track cars specs on wheel fitment and get back to me. Negative camber will be there. And @ the shot on the crappy tires... AWD makes up for crappy tires. i promise. Ive got a lot of people to vouch for me, this car, and how we preform on a mtn. try me lol

does anyone know what kind of camber is being run? i have the same exact set up about to go on
  22. Griffin January 18, 2012 at 3:30 PM Reply
If I remember right I was running about -4 in the front and right at -6 in the rear. It's not an easy fit at all. The 255's make it rough. The rear overfenders have to come off, then a rediculous pull. Then some more pulling lol, afterwards getting the overs back on is a big PITA. The fronts however are a pretty easy fit. Just a really good roll, mild pull, and gut the fender liners and throw done camber in. Hope it goes well and easier than mine!!
