Whuddup, my names Gino, i'm from Milwaukee Wi. and i own A 5 lug xb on *wait for it* corvette wheels, all the work was done by me and my dad. Heres the run down. Its Also my Daily Driver
2006 Scion XB RS 3.0
Engine:
Custom Turbo kit
garrett t25 water & oil cooled turbo w/internal wastegate
Turbo specialties cast manifold
custom intercooler piping
Turbo Specialties BOV
Steel Braided vacuum lines (real, not sleeves)
Turbo specialties fuel management system.
fujita air filter
Wheels:
1985 corvette "salad shooters" with 1988 caps
16x8.5 et38 + adaptec speedware 15mm 5x100-5x120.7 adapter. New offset +23
195/50/16 Toyo Proxes T1R
5 lug conversion:
This is what people ask about the most. i was doing some research and i found that there is enough room on factory scion xb hubs to fit a 5x100 bolt pattern, so i thought to myself, hmm technically i should be able to drill new holes for the studs and make it 5 lug. so after a few weeks of research, finding the right size studs, getting drill bits, ordering adapters, and finding the wheels, i went at it. and it worked
Camber? What Camber? these bitches fit perfect with out any of it. no rubbing at all
Suspension:
Even though i have installed and fabricated a bunch of airride kits over the years, i enjoy static cars. i find it more of a challenge.
Everyone knows the key to a smooth suspension is strut travel. and on factory xb struts even on no springs it did not go low enough for me. so i decided to make my own struts.
first thing first was to find a car with short McPherson struts, i must have compared at 30 different ones before i found the ones i used. they're from a 2003 Kia and the were over 5" shorter then my factory struts!
so i fabbed up new mounts, modified the top hats, and made a custom set of sleeve coilovers with some stuff i had lying around and BOOM instant lowness with excellent ride. no bounce at all.
at this height i have FULL suspension travel, in fact the coilover sleeve is lifted almost all the way up.
