This is my build, its a mazda rx8 with a FR500 mustang wheel set up

This is where i come in and throw a wrench into the works because i will be putting a set of FR500 wheels onto a MAZDA RX8..... not mustang. The Wheel specs

Stock FR500
Front 18x8 18x9
Rear 18x8 18x10
Off F50 F 24
R50 R 22
Tire
Stock: 225 45 18 - all around
FR500: Front 245 40 18(as of now)
Rear 265 40 18

The FR500 Wheels are designed and made to go onto a mustang, the wheels that i have purchased were made for a Mustang in the years ranging 1999-2004. The wheels wells and set up of those cars is capable of handling the rim's offset and size easily while using a larger tire. The Mazda Rx8 needed some modification for these to fit, i currently only have the two rear wheels. I started with one because i needed to see if they fit first. My 8 has the rear fenders rolled, originally they were rolled to fit 19x9.5 offset 35 with a 275 35 19 wheel, the diameter of the wheel was larger and the offset lower creating some clearance issues. I got the wheels to fit the way i wanted but me being the way that i am wasn't satisfied, i sold them only a year after i got them. The fit was good but not the look i was looking for. I wanted an 18 but with a low offset and an aggresive stance, also i wanted a large tire under the car to finish the look. I found the FR500 and it fit my requirements, also it was something different which not to many people would do especially on an import. So I decided to go ahead and give it a try.

Rear wheel installation:

The wheels of course I knew were going to be a challenge; to begin with I knew that the offset was going to be aggressive and that the wheel was going to stick out much farther than stock especially around the fender. Secondly, the hub bore on the rim is 70.6 and the mazda bore size 67.1. I had to find hub rings for my set up....problem i coudn't find anyone who made it. After a few weeks of searching on and off I got a set slightly smaller because of my limited options. So, the rings are 70.4 to 67.1. My tire choice was also a challenge because i wanted to fit the biggest tire under the car as possible, picking tires is never easy let me tell you. i ended up getting a pair of michelin sport sp2's. I purchased them used for two reasons: 1. in case they didn't fit and 2. in case i tore them up with the fender. So far so good not snags just waiting on the funds to purchase the front pair. Im sure my installation will have problems on the front set since it remains unrolled and my car is lowered on a set of Tenabe GF springs.
