I'm from the UK, so excuse the steering wheel being on the right-side!

Anyway, I thought I'd make a thread where I could see the progress on the car. This is my third MK1 MR2, and I picked it up by accident; we were doing some charity work and I passed the car on the way there, sat for sale in somebodys drive. At the time, I'd spent three solid months of looking for a nice R32 Skyline or FC RX7 after totalling my MX5 (Miata) towards the end of summer after a disagreement with a loose road surface. I was getting bored of my car at the time (an Astra GTE) consistently breaking down, so I figured the MR2 would be worth a punt as a decent daily until my dream FC came along, especially at £700 with a years MOT.

A week later I'd brought the car to the base I was living at, and set to remove some of the things which annoyed me about the car. Namely the steering wheel, some door protectors and the front licence plate. I replaced the wheel with a dished 330mm Rally-Designs wheel:

There was a decent-sized list of things that needed sorting, but I was hoping I would have found my RX7 by then. However, as these things go, I soon realised what it was about these cars that made me fall in love with them in the first place. So, I set about a wish-list of parts and acquiring them. However, it didn't take long for me to find that almost nobody in the UK stocks parts for these cars, and the only real following they have is with the two-brutal crowd; where guys swap in 3S-GTEs and V6s (and even V8s). I struggled to get any of the parts I'd ordered, even after paying for them, so the progress with the car hasn't been brilliant. I figured I'd sort out the ropey paintwork with a day of detailing, and sprayed the wheels black to mask some of their hideousness.

I then put some money to one side for a set of adjustable coil-overs, and the missus has booked us a holiday, so guess where that money is now going. The plan with the car is to slam it, panda-spec the paintwork, add some rivet arch extensions, a rocket-bunny style spoiler, and some 15x8J ET0 (front) and 15x9 ET-12 Compomotive MLs in brushed bronze, along with some red Bride seats if I can ever find a fixed-back pair, along with a full-cage. I have some R1 throttle-bodies laying around from the GTE, so I'm hoping to fit these, too. The car is generally just to be used as a daily, although she'll no doubt be tracked around the Nurburgring like all my other cars, and entered into our Air Force sprint series.

Jesus, I can't wait to get rid of that ride height. Anyway, in more recent news, my rear brakes have stopped working (seized caliper), and the only parts that have arrived are some yellow fog lights I ordered. So my car is sat on the drive, and I'm unable to go anywhere on my week off; leaving me bored enough to make threads like this one, so I apologise.
