i've taken off the roof rack because it was killing my fuel milage

i'm planning on going lower this summer but some extensive welding and cutting is going to happen. i'll post more when i start

struts have to be shortened for short body dampers, frame notching possibly in the rear and i'm going to have to cut out my drive shaft tunnel and make it larger so my drive shaft doesn't rub and hit. possibly may have to make more room for the dif as well. i am planning on getting rid of my 15x8's and getting 15x9s

Just beautiful. The car looks great as is, would be so awesome if you could find some sort of reproduction of the stock wheels but in agressive offsets. Being such a classic car, I think it needs some classic styled wheels.

Keep up the good work!

Yeah i would love to get some old JDM wheels for it, like old equips, or ssr's.... however the bolt pattern is not a common one (4x110) so there is a very limited bunch of wheels that i am able to get. that is why i opted for the diamonds because i had them made for me and they are cheap. re drilling is always an option as well. but you got me thinking about machining off my rim lips off my original 13" wheels, keeping the center and seeing if someone like rotoform can make some lips that would make my wheel from a 13" to a 15". i'll have to look into it.

Nice FB bro! just curious do these come with a 13b too?

and fitment is on point if/once you lower it just a tad more.

thanks, and yeah i plan to drop it some more. as for the motor this year of 7 had two options 12a or 13b. mine is the 12a which is carbed. but i love it. i'm trying to stay away from EFI for a long time.

So i have been neglecting this forum for quite some time. i've done a bunch of work on the car and have a bunch more parts piled up to be added.

So just over the past year i decided that i should continue to go lower. I was at the very low limit of my stock strut tubes and illumina inserts. So i made my own new struts. bought some koni 8610 inserts which are larger diameter than the illuminas so i found some mk2 supra struts that fit the inserts and combined them

the supra struts

koni vs illumina

my respeeds sitting and waiting

http://i142.photobucket.com/albums/r111/drewmclean1/Car/IMG_2041.jpg

so i cut the supra tubes off, made a new bottom on the lathe, welded it on and turned it smooth for a press fit

http://i142.photobucket.com/albums/r111/drewmclean1/Car/DSC00007.jpg

then bored out the rx7 spindle bottoms to accept the new tubes
made some new spring/height adjuster purches and this is the end product.

Now for how the car sits.. and it will roll a soda can down the road

I'm rebuilding another carb right now and will be modding it for mechanical secondaries so there isn't any more vacuum actuated secondaries. also increasing the volume on the accelerator pump for better acceleration.
