Set-Up:
2009 Mazdaspeed3
BC "Type BR" coilovers
SPC Rear Camber Arms
Rolled Fenders (all 4) and shaved tab in the rear
Issue:
I was driving in to work today and I hit a nice sized bump/drop on the highway. The rear rubbed real bad and then a "flapping" noise began...as if something was stuck to the tire. The flapping was consistent with the revolutions of the tire.
Made it in to work and it turns out that the driver's side rear tire got caught on a sharp edge where the rear fenders were rolled and dug a gash into the tire. The passenger rear has signs of rubbing but no gash.
I need help from MS3 owners (or anyone) on how to raise the rear. I am a complete n00b when it comes to coilovers so I have no idea how to use the spanner wrenches (I have them with me). I am going to attempt to do this before I leave for work. When I search online I get many other vehicles with BC's but the rear set-up is unique to MS3's.
What should I do?
-Raise the rear (entire car) and how?
-How Much should I raise it (How many clicks)?
-Fender Pull (Phonebook Method)?
-Set the damping to a more stiffer setting?
-Do Both?
I love the height but I'm pretty scared driving it this low in fear of a blowout. It just sounds real gnarly in the rear right now. Here are some pics for reference (sorry for the crappy iPhone pics):
Please help me out guys!! Thanks!
