Stretched tire Question

I have 17x8's and i am in the process of looking for new tires. I want a little bit of poke, nothing too too crazy since i daily drive my wagon, so i was wondering what a good size tire would be.
I currently have 225/45 :geek:

for an 8 a stretch would be 205/40 or 205/45 or a 215/40. 225/45 would be flush!

I have an 8 with 215/40s and its relatively even fit (no stretch) 205 would be a good stretch and safe for a daily.

although not a 17, these are 16x8's with a 205/40 just to show to mild stretch
