It's been a long time in the making, but I almost done, and I'm ready to share. I bought a 2006 GTO about a year ago, with the intention of keeping it relatively stock. I swore to everyone I knew that this one would not be stanced. My previous car went from varying stages of drivability.
2007 gti
first stage
final stage
I ended up cracking a wheel, and giving up on the car completely. Threw the rs4 reps back on and sold everything I could, and traded it in for a 2006 GTO 6speed.
first week I had it ( wheel gap for days)
fast forward a year almost to the day.
then a couple of days later, once I fixed some clearance issues, I lowered it a little bit more and took some more pics.
That was satisfying for all of a day before I moved on to ordering wheels. The problem is that no one stances out a gto normally, and the only other decent one A.) the owner passed away, so what wasn't already documented is lost and B.) they were ccw's so the exact specs weren't known. I knew I wanted aggressive but had no idea what I could pull off or what offsets were doable. I ended up ordering Varrstoen 1.1.1 lm reps 18 x 9.5 +22 18x10.5 +22, and if they did'nt fit I should be able to flip them on the bmw forums without too much of a loss.
first test fitting.
i learned I needed to go alot lower and needed a fender roll all the way around badly.
had the owner of this roll my fenders all the way around, and he did an amazing job.
I finally got some tires on and test fitted again, but failed on the rear. Ended up having to move the front to the rear and rocking the stock 2 upfront.
after a couple weeks of not wanting to touch it I finally was able to source some used tires to throw on for sizing purposes.
the front was doable with some negative camber(none in the picture) but the rear is undriveable. The rear camber is not adjustable stock, so that brings us up to today.... I ordered the rear camber bushings and hopefully they go on tomorrow.
