Thread: Flipping Tires

    Flipping Tires

I've got 195-45-16 on my 16x8 BBS. The rears are showing wire because my negative camber, while the other side of the tires are 100% tread

How opposed are most of you to flipping the tires and riding?

Anyone ever had a blow out whilst doing such a thing?

while i wouldnt reccomend it, i did this on my s13 the fronts were pretty much bald (some cords showing) on the inside 2 inches of the tire while the res of the tire had about 60 -80 percent tread, so i flipped em, workd well for the last 2 months, had no issues. oh and they are a 235/40/ r18 on a 10 inch wide tire.

People do it all the time but I wouldn't recommend it.

Many tires are directional, so once you flip them, they become indirectional to the purpose of the tyre so not only will you have outside wire exposed, but a tread pattern that is not designed for the direction it's going in.
