To b fair this does seem like a good place to start his search for information... Welcome anyway man. i cant b of any real help but ill giv u the 1st few things i know u'll need:
Wheels, wide & with offset. stretched tyres if ur in2 that awell (makes it easier to tuck & still poke)
suspansion, coilovers r popular & seem 2 get a bit more credibility when riding low.
depending on what u like, some kinda camber kit may also b on the cards.

hoefully that helps. So wheels & suspension & go from there

Thanks. much more help then the other guy. i know i needed coilovers and wheels. i knew that. but i might go bags or static. idk as of right now.
i would love to get streched tires. but its pushing on my budget. as of right now, i would love BBS wheels. and adjustable coilovers with a camber kit (spacers also)

btw. i plastidiped my hubcaps. 10 bucks feels sooo good :P

none of this makes sense...it sounds as though you are totally confused on every part of this....Just use the search button and when you find things you like, jot them down this way when you actually have the money to pull it off you know exactly what you want...there is no point in me telling you what you should do its your car, not mine...it's all up to you..if cash is tight, bags are out of the question that leaves you with what options: sleeves or racelands lol It's simple deductions that make everyone life easier.

maybe i like to hear from other people instead of a search button. i have a good idea of what i need. i am new to this... kinda, learned about it last year around school and this guy that drives a blue (now black) 350z he got a fully feature on here. i really want to become a part of this a ride low. thats why i need peoples advise on what to do. thanks though

If you are looking into air suspension, look into companies like airlift company, and bagyard. Both make great products, it's just a matter of which suites you and your budget.

If you want static, I got a set of ksport coilovers on my 8p a3 (same as mk5/6). I wanted a set of coilovers that had front camber plates to further dial in my suspension. Fronts got camber plates, I'm running about -1* camber in the front to reduce tire wear. In the rear the stock arms have adjust points for camber.

For wheels, I'm running 18x8.5 +42 w/ 225/40/18, very small stretch. Comes almost flush with the fenders, nothing crazy as my girlfriend drives the car majority of the time. You can do 18x8.5 offsets in the 30s, or 18x9 offsets in the 30s with a small roll and pull. Or get something with offsets like mine and run spacers...

Not trying to do a plug here but you might find way more information on vw vortex.com

I'd go static, it's pretty common to see a Golf on bags.

But that being said, everyone does it because it's preferable. (Not to mention pretty cheap, compared to good coilovers)

It's really up to you and what you want your car to look like.

    Trying something new, stay tuned.
