I'm planning on doing a full drivetrain swap from an 04' STI into my 03' subaru legacy L sedan. Any tips on how to go about this full swap out?

In theory it is an "easy" swap. The real PITA is thewiring conversion.
You will need to take the entire loom from the STI and splice it up until the Legacy sensors work.

You need to strip both vehicles to absolutely barren shells, and then lay the looms out next to each other. Then compare the pin out diagrams of one vehicle to another and splice the wires that need altering.
